TOURING DEPOT NEWSLETTER FOR JUNE 2010
SUMMERS HERE, TIME TO RIDE! I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. Remember Fathers Day is June 20th. Place your orders no later then June 14th to make sure your gift arrives in time.
Monday, June 21st is the 19th annual ride to work day.
Ride your motorcycle or scooter on this day to demonstrate:
•The number of motorcyclists to the general public and to politicians.
•That motorcyclists are from all occupations and all walks of life.
•That motorcyclists can reduce traffic and parking congestion in large cities.
•That motorcycles are for transportation as well as recreation.
•That motorcycling is a social good.
PLANNING:
There are so many beautiful places to ride. I've been working on information for touring the state of Vermont. Ride the exciting twisty gaps and notches of the mountains, enjoy the scenic beauty of the valleys and farms, and step back in time to old country stores and covered bridges. And don't forget a visit to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Kentucky is also a fun state for motorcycle touring. It offers motorcycle riders multiple scenic environments from which to explore. Tour scenic roads past horse farms and check out the Bourbon distilleries, explore Mammoth Cave, Cumberland Gap, and the historical sites related to Abraham Lincoln & Daniel Boone. Ride the twisty roads along the Appalachian Mountains and explore the southern and western waterland regions. Kentucky is a great place for camping and enjoying the outdoors. If you were planning to travel to Alabama this summer the 29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort in Alabama has closed as of 5/25/2010. We are currently working on our "Touring By State" information for Alabama and will soon bring you a list of other motorcycle friendly places to stay.
